Professor Hedley's Road Trip

About thirty years ago, Hedley with his wife and their elder daughter visited the Niah caves in Sarawak, in East Malaysia. They traveled by car, large ferry and a small boat.
Their journey started from Bandar Seri Begawan the capital of Brunei and they drove to the border of Sarawak. They set off early morning and reached their destination by the sunset. They crossed two large rivers by ferry. They stopped in Miri for lunch and then continued to Niah a small river township. Deep inside the caves , they saw men climbing poles in order to scrape birds nests off the roof of the caves. After this whole exciting day, they were exhausted and needed some rest. So, they hired a small boat and sailed upriver to a small government rest house. They returned the next day , and their luck wasn’t at its best that time because he damaged his car badly that caused his reverse gear to be stuck.
